Talks
I have given more than a hundred talks on my research to audiences from ten to 250. My talks are well-illustrated and last about an hour (with questions). Topics available include:
- The Welsh Settlement of Patagonia
- The history of the city of Chester.
Classes
As well as being a qualified secondary school teacher, I have taught creative writing at universities to classes of around thirty, and established and run creative WEA to classes of around 12. I have also given one-off workshops at various literature festivals. Topics include:
- starting to write
- writing about place
- writing from history
- dialogue
